Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) will be held in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from March 9-12, 2016. The exhibition then will be more than 100,000 m2, with estimated 600 exhibitors and over 20,000 products. Closing on November 4, the 118th installment of the Canton Fair – China’s most prestigious trade event – showed slight decrease of overall buyer attendance as well as growth in key areas. 177,544 overseas buyers from 213 countries and regions around the world attended the Fair, a decrease of 4.6% over same period of last year. However, overcoming widespread concern over currency fluctuations, sales of certain key products were significantly up, while many purchasing countries also showed an encouraging increase in buyer numbers.

On October 31st, Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of China, and Park Geun-hye, the President of South Korea, announced the set up of the China-South Korea Innovation & Entrepreneurship Park in Chengdu when Li visited South Korea. On November 5, 2015, only one year after announcing the concept of its game-changing MULTI elevator technology, ThyssenKrupp unveils a fully-functional 1:3 scale model at its Innovation Center in Gijon, Spain. Kobe City showed its high-tech Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster (KBIC) to journalists on Oct. 29 during a press tour mainly for foreign correspondents stationed in Japan. The tour, also highlighting Kobe’s foreigner-friendly policies, was part of the city’s efforts to attract more companies and tourists from overseas to the western Japan port city, one of Japan’s most cosmopolitan cities.
