Durham, England – InThePaper, the largest UK supplier of personalised fake newspapers, has today announced a surge in orders since the end of the recent UK postal strike.
During the UK postal strike, in force sporadically in various regions of the UK between the months of October and November 2009, InThePaper noticed a corresponding dip of orders – approximately half of the usual volume. However, since the postal strikes have ceased, orders have risen by 250 per cent – a significant surge.
The company’s associated websites have also seen a similar surge in order volumes, yet the figures released by InThePaper are still astounding and reflect the demand for personalised newspapers as gift ideas for the Christmas holidays this year.
“Obviously there is a natural increase on orders for our newspapers at Christmas,” said InThePaper Managing Director Rebecca Philipson. “But even taking this into account, the surge in orders is unprecedented. It has got to be that customers have been waiting until the post strike finished to place their orders online. Let’s hope it continues.”
